About Us

Welcome to Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery School!

Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery School foundation stone was laid on the 1st of April 2012 and the school was officially opened on the 4th of November 2014. The nursery school was built by The Gambia Volunteers Trust. It is a community nursery school which entirely depends on donations and fundraising. The school is in a deprived 20141106_130440area and in great need of support/volunteers and child sponsorship. The school has over 150 children between the ages of 3 to 7 years.

Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery is a good school that places great importance on the success of its pupils. Children are assessed regularly and effective support ensures children make progress. An innovative curriculum has been designed to ensure that children take part in exciting lessons and that they play an active part in their own learning.

As a school we love working with parents and we are looking for an increasing army of volunteer helpers to support us during the school day.

The only true way to find out about our school is to walk through the door and experience the positive atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you into our school community!

We are an inclusive school, working collaboratively with a range of charities and volunteers to maximise opportunities for all our pupils, families and staff.

Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery; ready to include some of the Thrive Principles.

There are four guiding principles of the Thrive Approach:

  • Every child is a unique person, constantly developing and learning in different ways and at different rates, each with his/her own abilities, talents and potential to be fulfilled.
  • Children’s healthy development, emotional well-being and learning are crucially dependent upon, and promoted through, positive relationships.
  • Children flourish when they are confident, self-assured, capable and resilient.
  • Children thrive in enabling environments, in which their individual development, learning experiences and needs are understood, responded to and supported through strong partnerships with parents/carers.

Community is at the heart of our work and our work extends beyond school and into the local and wider community.

    School Linking

Link your school with Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery. School linking provides a unique opportunity to transform the lives of children in your school and ours. Your students will learn about important international issues, and provide life-changing support to our school. What can your students learn? Establishing an international school link gives your students important awareness of global issues:
    • Our letter exchange programme improves students’ knowledge and understanding of other cultures, the wider world and their own role as global citizens
    • Students can discuss the issues that affect their lives, build relationships, and a respect for diversity
    • They can also benefit from unique teaching resources that add a new dimension to lessons
If you are a head teacher or working at a school why not contact us for a school link or you can encourage your classroom to fundraise for our school. Maybe you can fundraise for our school at (RED NOSE DAY). Fundraising at your own school can make a huge difference to the lives of our school children at Marang Beyai Memorial Nursery. The school is in a deprived area and in great need of support and child sponsorship's. Whether it’s an on-going link with our school or a one-off donation, your support could help children access the quality education they deserve.   facebookbutton   contact_us virgin_money_giving1
