The Gambia Volunteers Trust (GVT) is a registered international voluntary organisation; helping to enhance the dignity and to improve the lives of people living in poverty; to enable people to help themselves by providing practical opportunities to create a better future: to work with determination and care to empower people in need through volunteerism.

Aims & Objectives

THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN THE GAMBIA THROUGH THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES NOT PROVIDED FOR THROUGH STATUTORY FUNDS.

TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES AND ENABLE ALL WHO WISH TO VOLUNTEER TO DO SO FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY.

TO UNDERTAKE VOLUNTARY WORK IN EDUCATION, SOCIAL SERVICES, AND SIMILAR CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES AMONGST THOSE CLASSED IN NEED THEREOF.

• RECRUITING INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS TO THE GAMBIA
• CAMPAIGN AGAINST FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION (FGM)
• CARING AND SUPPORT FOR VOLUNTEERS
• FUND RAISE TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES.
• PROVIDE VOLUNTARY ASSISTANCE TO ELDERLY PEOPLE.
• PROVIDE CARE AND VOLUNTARY SERVICE TO PENSIONERS.
• BUILD AND RENOVATE NURSERY SCHOOLS IN THE GAMBIA.
• SPONSOR SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM NEEDY FAMILIES

• The Gambia Volunteers assists all peoples through projects of social and charitable nature
• The Gambia Volunteers helps to enhance the knowledge and skills of those it serves
• The Gambia Volunteers promotes models of good care and practices in volunteering
• The Gambia Volunteers works with local and international NGOs in order to achieve its aims 

In the interest of children safety & safeguarding, volunteers wanting to work with children in schools or nurseries must forward their DBS CERTIFICATES to us.

OFFICES:

We have offices in the United Kingdom and The Gambia with some volunteers acting as ambassadors in different countries. All our offices are run by dedicated volunteers who are always ready to help.
